Moon Hoch
Cave music from NYC.
From the NYC subway to the Foajcescenen – Moon Hooch invites you to dance with their infectious live expression. Sax and percussion in a unique mix that draws influences from everything from EDM to RnB, funk, and jazz.
The trio gained significant attention when they released their first album in 2013, introducing their "cave music" to the world – a blend of jazz, funk, and electronica. By then, they were already underground stars in New York and had been banned from the city's subway stations by the NYPD after causing dance chaos with their spontaneous station concerts.
Moon Hooch consists of drummer Cyzon Corey Griffin and the two saxophonists Mike Wilbur and Wenzl McGowen. The trio has shared the stage with bands like Tame Impala, They Might Be Giants, and Lotus, performed live on NPR's Tiny Desk concert, and received critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic.
If you were one of those grooving to Lucky Chops' concerts at Bærum Kulturhus, attendance on last January evening is mandatory.
