Bjørn Vidar Solli/John Ellis Quartet

Bjørn Vidar Solli is the guitarist from Skiens who has the whole world as his home turf. He spent many years living in New York, where he worked in the absolute top echelon of jazz musicians. Now he's inviting his friends from New York to Bærum to present a stellar line-up on Saturday night.

This will be intense and engaging jazz from some of the foremost musicians on the international jazz scene.

John Ellis is a prolific producer in his own right and has also worked with the likes of Helen Sung, Gretchen Parlato and Dr Lonnie Smith.

Phil Donkin is a sought-after British bassist and respected composer. He is active in a number of band constellations on both sides of the Atlantic, most notably Dhafer Youssef's Bird's Requiem (with Eivind Aarseth and Nils Petter Molvær), Rainer Böhm's trio and Marius Neset's ‘Birds’ quartet.

JK Kim is an award-winning, Billboard-nominated drummer, improviser, composer and electronica artist from Incheon, Korea, who in recent years has become a central voice in the contemporary jazz and improvised music scene in his hometown and a rising star on the global stage.
