The choreographer and dancer Nicola Galli will start a new artistic project that continues the research he has been conducting since 2010 on the existence of the contemporary human being and the relation with Nature.

The artistic residency at Bærum Kulturhus is the first step of the research for the project entitled DILUVIO, new production 2026.

In a time marked by profound transformations and fragility of social bonds, DILUVIO investigates shipwreck as a condition of the present, observing what remains and moving among the ruins of the world. Starting from the necessity to collectively rethink our living, the project experiments with the construction of spaces of freedom and belonging in which to take care of bodies and discover new forms of connection.

Welcome to the first open showing of DILUVIO – an encounter with a creation process that reflects on our time through movement, stillness, and the poetic power of the body.

About the Artist

Nicola Galli (1990, Italy) works on body research and he is choreographer, dancer, light and costume designer. His research stated in artistic pieces and devices that ranges from choreography to performance, from body installations to graphic-visual design.

His work embraces a transversal scenic vision, in which the body becomes the irradiate core of an artistic research and a sensibility focused on the exploration of movement as a part of different knowledges.

Since 2010 he has been developing a choreographic research focused on the deep relationship between human and nature and on the analysis of the notions of stratification and landscape.

Since 2014, he has been an artist supported by the production organisation TIR Danza.

In 2018 he won the Equilibrio award - Fondazione Musica per Roma and Danza & Danza Prize as best emerging choreographer.

In 2019 he won the italian award Sfera d'Oro per la danza.

Nicola Galli is part of the bilateral program Italy-Norway Dance Residencies, a collaboration between NID Platform, MiC, PAHN, the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Rome. The project promotes exchange residencies for Italian and Norwegian dancers, aiming to develop a model for supported stays in both countries. In addition to supporting research and the development of new works, the program invites choreographers to engage in dialogue and network-building for future collaborations. Read more here
