Dreams, memories, sounds, chaos, bodies, utopias, swing
samtaler med (conversations with) is a documentary dance performance and a therapeutic examination of body, identity, queerness, inner narratives, outer disturbances and cultural expectations. About being awake, away, free, unfree, on, off, present and absent.
Through sound, lighting, movement and objects, Caroline stages and explores how this leaves or deletes traces in the body. An inner conversation with the known, unknown, old and new.
World premiere at Ål Kulturhus on March 28th 2025.
About
Caroline Skjørshammer (she/her) is a Norwegian-American dance artist who shifts between performing, creating and sharing dance in different projects and contexts. Aside from dance, she has also studied psychology and family therapy, and it is the weaving of these three fields that has been the starting point for this work. She is curious about how dance in a performative setting can function as a therapeutic medium, and how personal processes reflect collective and universal experiences.
