Sara Ferrandez og Itai Navon
Bach, De Falla and Schumann performed by a vital viola/piano duo
Sara Ferrandez, viola, and Itai Navon, piano, create something very special when they take the stage together. This February evening, the two will perform their favourite works from Bach, De Falla and Schumann.
From the Berlin Philharmonic to Sandvika
Madrid-based Sara Ferrández is quickly establishing herself as one of the most exciting violists of her generation. Despite her young age, Sara has already performed at some of the biggest concert halls around the world: Berliner Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie, Victoria Hall, L'Auditori in Barcelona and Salzburg Festspielhaus. Ferrández's 2024-25 calendar is packed with artistic highlights: orchestral debuts with the Spanish National Symphony Orchestra and Orquesta de Extremadura, as well as her collaborations with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias and Orquesta Sinfónica RTVE.
This season marks the start of a very exciting and inspiring collaboration with Orquesta del Principado de Asturias as their new artistic collaborator. Chamber music has always had a special place in Ferrández's musical life. She is often invited to play at major international festivals such as Verbier Festival, Classiche Forme, Arezzo Festival, Utrecht Chamber Music Festival and Sion Festival. She has collaborated closely with highly respected artists such as Janine Jansen, Beatrice Rana, Amihai Grosz, Pablo Ferrández, Kian Soltani, Daishin Kashimoto and our own Vilde Frang.

Pianist Itai Navon is a sought-after soloist and chamber musician who has played in many of the most important concert halls throughout Europe, including Wigmore Hall in London, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Berlin's Konzerthaus and Pierre Boulez Saal plus Ehrbar Saal in Vienna. He has appeared at major music festivals such as Kronberg Festival, Klavierfestival Ruhr, Kultursommer Nordhessen and Musikfestspiele Saar in Germany, Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad and Menuhin Festival in Switzerland to name but a few. At the invitation of pianist Sir András Schiff, Itai Navon participated in the 2018-19 season of the concert series ‘Building Bridges’ with solo concerts across Europe.
